Frequently I use Microsoft Excel to render records of various projects. Having a multiple monitor computer definitely helps. Often times I’ll compare two Excel spreadsheets side by side so that I can stay on top of things row to row. Using dual computer monitors, I’ll put a spreadsheet on each computer monitor.
At first, I couldn’t get the spreadsheets to display seperately, on serperate screens, eventhough they appeared as seperate windows in my taskbar. It took me a little while but after a few minutes, I found how to command Excel to open each document as a seperate window or instance of the Excel application.
There are several different ways you can view Excel in a multi-screen format. You can start by having the Excel program open on one display, and the documents you are comparing on another display.
Maximize Excel to spread across multiple monitors. This application would work well if you had a very large spreadsheet that is hard to view on a single monitor. Stretching the spreadsheet across dual screen monitors will help you see the whole spreadsheet without having to toggle back and forth.
Automatically position and maximize each speadsheet in its own display.
If you have two documents open simultaneously on Excel, click the “Window” button and the “Compare Side By Side” should automatically appear. This will automatically position each spreadsheet in its own display. This particular trick only works for two documents though.
Now for the real glory booster,
all you need to do is open each Excel document in it’s own window seperately. This way you can utilize your multi monitor setup to it’s fullest capabilities. To do this simply hold the “Shift” button down when you click on the Excel Shortcut and it will open independently of any other Excel windows previously opened.
If a regular stock computer was a bicycle then a Day Trading Computer would be a Harley Davidson! The power, functionality, and speed are superior. If you’re a day trader I would suggest doing some research and make sure you get exactly what you need. These computers come standard with a lot of stuff but look into any upgrades that could really make a difference for you. Great quality video cards are a must for day trading computers.
How much Muscle do you need in a Day Trading Computer?
Generally speaking your probably replacing your computer due to slow speeds that keep you waiting, upgrading only prolongs poor performance, and the inevitable breakdown. Purchasing a Multiple Monitor system, will get you a longer service life because the faster processing speeds of the CPU coupled withthe industries leading components will combine to delay the day you’ll need to replace it.
Day Trading Tools and Support
Tick charts with multiple indicators applied to them, need faster processors. How fast? As fast as you can get budget wise. Tick charts with those convenient indicators can put a heavy weight on the processor’s “things to do” list, especially when the markets volume is at it’s peak.
The main problem day traders have time and time again, is lack of performance in their current trading computer. Also multi screen compatibility, and reliability. One can not emphasize enough just how crucial it is to your trading success, to not have down time in your stock quotes due to processing speed. In an industry where “every second counts,” and the actual price of a trade can shift significantly in just a couple of seconds, it’s never more important to have a reliable performing multiple monitors.
Choosing a Processor
When you want high performance-rich computing power, start by looking at the processor. Intel has made some groundbreaking advancements, revolutionizing desktop and mobile PCs, workstations and servers too. Not to mention the ability to display multiple monitors.
The i7 processor can perform about 30% more calculations per GHz than a Core2 processor used in a similar configuration. Additionally, the i7 processor has 4 CPU cores to improve performance when more than one software application is being used. This can be a major factor when running multi screens.
Ideal Specifications as a Minimum
Processor: 2.8 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo (Dual Core)
RAM Memory: 4 GB of DDR2 (800Mhz / PC6400)
Hard Drive:500GB SATA II Hard Drive
Operating System:Windows XP Professional
Graphics: 512MB of GDDR2 ATI Graphics (PCI Express 2.0)
As stated on Intel’s website, “overclocked processors can produce unpredictable results or system instabilities, which might not be readily apparent. The life of the processor may also be shortened. Then expected frequency is the frequency at which Intel warrants the reliable performance of the processor. If you have not intentionally changed the system bus frequency or ratio, Intel suggests you contact your PC system manufacturer or reseller to resolve the problem. If you bought an Intel processor that appears to be overclocked and installed it yourself, you should contact the processor place of purchase.”
“Give someone a second monitor, let them use it for a while, and then try to take it away. It just isn’t going to happen.” Suzanne Ross, Microsoft Research
If you never tried multiple monitors and you have resources to get another monitor, maybe a dual monitor video card, I say GO FOR IT! “The only thing to fear is fear itself.” Or so they say.
However there is just thing that might not be as heart-warming as seeing little daughters birthday party photo, on the dual monitor wallpaper. That is the fact that for those of us who use Windows (and I’m fairly positive about Macs too) might need to use some type of dual monitor software to get the over all experience. Even if you purchased a dual monitor adapter, you will still want to try some of the quirky little features of something like “Ultramon” from Realtime Soft.
They provide a free trail version of their multiple monitor interface solution on their site. I checked it out and one thing that I really like about it is the fact that my Windows task-bar is now a multiple display task-bar. The crazy thing is that it’s so easy when everybody tries to please me. Not only did multi-monitors.com get me a great multiple monitor computer but Ultramon got me a simple easy to use application that makes my multi screendisplay work seamlessly like one.
I mean here we have a a program that although small is not so little. This great little software will enable you to multi-task better than ever before with your multi screen display. Every day more and more people use more than one monitor, and the great thing about this little program is that it lets you make your screens extremely personal to your needs.
Two of the best features, I think, is the Taskbar Extender, and the ability to stretch a quicktime video across dual screen monitors and not loose any picture quality. In fact it sometimes gains picture quality to make one big screen. With the Taskbar Extender, the once ordinary windows single monitor taskbar extends across multi screens and displays the application in the monitor its on. That’s better than having to always go back to the main monitor to find a application , usually among many others, in the taskbar.
One thing is for sure. This little program compliments my multiple monitorcomputer and helps me to be more efficient while using it. After all, with all the time spent on the computer shouldn’t we make best of the time?
I propose that multiple monitor computer to be used in schools to assist students with their learning performance. The progress of the multi screen display has enabled an explosion in the visual ways of teaching presentation.
In recent years, most educators presented their instructional materials by using projectors. You remember, they had to wheel a boxy E.T. figure around on a special cart. Nonetheless, it was still better than the chalk board. Since however the invention of the dual monitor video card, new technologies have been developed and multimedia instruction could be a good approach for students to construct meaningful knowledge and to make referential connections between mental representations.
Use a multiple monitor approach for constructing a multi screen aided learning system supported by a dual monitor adapter. Throw in some popular tools such as Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Studies show that based on the cognitive theory of Multimedia Learning, this aided system combining support verbally and pictorial as well.
As a result teachers can can easily develop their teaching materials and present reference materials on different monitors or screens. And at least one experiment conducted by the Dept. of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Chung Cheng University, Chiayi, Taiwan, suggests that by using a Multimedia system to simultaneously present musical notations and a listening map, the results using multimedia (likely with dual monitor software) presentation are superior to those of conventional instruction methods when it comes to learning achievement and creative ability.
Thus using a multiple display for education would be a step in the right direction. Imagine dual monitor wallpaper of great leaders and philosophers, artists, and other history makers.
Lets take in to consideration some thoughts on sufficient use, or lack of, our time. Our daily schedule is filled with a vast field of chores, things to do, acts of honor, and wishful thinking. The modern day revolution of technological breakthroughs in association with everyday office/business/personal needs, can often become a systematical ritual of keeping up with the Jone’s. All in all, the more we can get done the better, and not the other way around. With that in mind, the pressure to do more is sometimes great and that pressure can become stress.
If your among the billions of people (literally over 1.6 billion worldwide according to Internetworldstats.com) then you know how time consuming your desktop, Mac, or PC can be. If you’re not, I’m sure you will be soon enough.
Fortunately, the technology demands of our time is rivaled only in terms of it’s terms of growth. Now more than ever a person can use a computer to organize their schedule, set a reminder to finish those reports, pay the bills, check juniors grades, and most of all, experience the tranquility of a good chair in the process.
This, of course, is not necessarily news to many. However, what many people don’t know is that even when we are in our favorite chair, at the the office or home, the pressure to be productive still lurks around every corner. If one of over a billion people that still doesn’t have multiple monitors on your desktop , then you’re either to busy to notice or you’re in severe denial.
The fact is that a dual monitor setup goes far beyond just being a scenic dual monitor wallpaper. Folks around the world rave at the super beneficial productivity gains they get with trading computers that support multi screendisplays. Not only that, independent studies have shown that when a persons job is made easier, their stress levels reduce. It makes sense to me that when the pressure of work dominates our lives, then that stress can and generally will transcend into our personal and social life as well. So in recognizing that dual screen monitors are better than one, go get another monitor!
If your PC doesn’t have the extra dual monitor adapter needed to hook another monitor, don’t worry. Back in ancient times people belived you had to have some kind of special dual monitor software, but today is not the case. You can go to Super PC, home of the multiple monitor computer and get a dual monitor video card. In fact you can just click on the links and they’ll take you right there. Just go ahead and thank me later.
Once you see just how beautiful life can be with something as simple as a dual monitor cable. With all the available extra workspace, you’re sure to get more done than before and the best thing is, you can take all the credit too.
In today’s multi tasking computing world, it’s not unusual to see people constantly switching from window to window trying to get data transferred from one application to another. Even using the hotkey Alt-Tab window switcher gets old. We want to see the data as soon as our eyes can hit it. It’s a result of this type of madness, the popularity of multiple monitor computer workstations has increased dramatically.
Studies have shown a significant increase in employee productivity when a dual monitor setup is used. There is less mental stress, less time spent on switching programs, and less eye strain, and that’s just better anyway you look at it.
For those of you who are looking to expand out of your technology box you will most likely consider a dual monitor video card or some type of dual monitor adapter, and try to salvage that old PC that supports only on computer monitor. That’s fine, but it’s only time before you will want multiple monitors. Let’s just face it. It is what is is. Whatever the next level of evolution more productivity is, is where technology goes.
You may say well these solutions are good for desktop users, but what about my laptop? Don’t worry there are already simple easy solutions to give your laptop a dual monitor wallpaper. A simple dual monitor cable usually will do the trick.
With a multiple monitorcomputer your net worth instantly gets higher. I’m sure that somewhere there is a computer engineer trying to figure out a way to put more monitors on a computer than ever before.
You’ve probably noticed that everywhere you looks these days you hear something about going green. Whether it be in the news, politics, fashion, and even technology, as well as a Planet Green TV network, you can hardly escape the growing pressure to relieve some of the carbon footprint that we all tend to leave behind.
That may be all great and dandy in the eyes of those tree loving people who so heroically take on the world upon their shoulders. It can be so easy to get caught up in all the quotidian stuff- switching to organic foods, turning down the thermostat (in the winter!), to recycling which has been said to put even more dangerous pollutants in the air that weren’t previously there.
Thankfully a few good men got together and figured out a way we could save time and energy, while we are doing our thing on the computer. Over 1.6 billion of us are surfing the web, trying to get more done than ever before. Well, I have got some news for you. Now we can increase efficiency and decrease energy consumption at the same time.
Imagine all the tasks you may be challenged to complete, on your PC that is. Take into consideration the time it would take to do all those tasks. During that time, your PC is using energy. If we can decrease the time needed to complete those all but necessary everyday tasks on that damned computer, we would also save energy . So how can we make your PC more productive while it’s in use, so there can be less time spent on the computer?
We will start by visiting our multiple monitor hero’s at SUPER PC. They have a multiple monitor computer that does the trick, and looks good doing it with their easy as pie dual monitor setup. It’s called the Nuclear Workstation. Kind of has a ring to it, doesn’t it. New Clean Air, fits right in there.
It’s ready to support dual screen monitors right out of the box. The dual monitor computer is standard, however you can upgrade to as many monitors as you want. Up to 24 really, but you can choose many uprades if you wish. The more computer monitors the better.
You will quickly learn that mulitple monitors are better. Saves time, and that’s money. Save money and you save energy. Saving energy makes the whole world a better place for us all and our grand kids too.
Remembering back when I originally switched to a dual monitor setup to gain efficiency online, I know I’ll never go back. The productivity benefits came not only in apparent gains but actually relieved stress and tension associated with my increasing frustration. Frustration that stemmed from the “single monitor blues.” O f course I have written about how easy it is to setup a multiple monitor system including but not limited to adding a dual monitor video card, to using a dual monitor adapter. So we already know how easy it is to create multiple monitor displays. Now we’re going to look at how to make the most of your multiple monitor setup. Here are 5 tips on efficiency using dual screen monitors that have worked for me. If you have a multi screencomputer these tips will benefit you as well but to keep it simple this blog will address dual monitor backgrounds.
Relax Browser Tension.
In the days of the “single monitor blues” we can and often do fall into the trap of using one browser at a time and collecting tons of open tabs. That can increase crashing and slow PC performance way down. With dual monitors you can keep your Firefox open on the left screen and say Google Crome open on the right. Evidently Crome is well known for running applications and pages in tabs in such a manner that if one of the tabs go down, the other remaining tabs will stay intact, unlike the ole IE. However, we can say that Crome doesn’t have (yet) the available customizing features and huge array of extensions than that of Firefox. So to maintain “Maximum Up-time Efficiency” use a browser like Firefox for apps that use your favorite extensions, and Crome for the tab browsing and so forth.
Mighty Mouse Power.
Eventhough a lowly name such as mouse conjures up the idea of a small thing to be shooed away, the mouse proves to be a significant force waiting to be harnessed. I’ll give you some ideas here to make possibly the smallest deveice do some of the larger work.
1) Open a new tab in your browser by clicking on your scroll wheel once over a link.
2) Increase the size of your text in a document by holding the Ctrl key down and lightly move your mouses scroll wheel down. The text will increase in size. Hold the Crtl key down and move the scroll wheel up and the text returns to it’s normal size.
3) Instantly Select Lines of Text and paragraphs by using multiple mouse clicks. Highlight on a word with two quick clicks of a button, or scoop up the entire sentence with three quick clicks. If your in a word-pad document you can put the cursor in the middle of the paragraph, and click it three times and it will select the whole paragraph. Hit the delete button if want to see the quickest way to eject a whole paragraph.
Organize Your Desktop.
I use a bunch of different software applications, so my desktop can get cluttered very quickly. Having at dual monitor desktop can give you a place to separate operating system utilities from browser specific applications. This will also free up time used to find a shortcut in a sea of many, much like a diamond in a haystack.
Use Keyword Shortcuts.
Learning how to manipulate the keyboard and the mouse at the same time has been one of the most underrated (and least used) features of the system. Keyboard shortcuts are skills we can all use and they serve a helpful purpose when they can be recalled quickly. Here, I will remind you of some neat little shortcut tips to give you more time to do other things.
1) Quickly Access the Start Menu: hit either of the two those infamous “Windows” keys located on both sides of the space-bar.
2) Quickly get to your System Properties: Windows key+Pause/Break instead of going through that whole process of “My Computer” and so on.
3) Quickly Lock your System: Need to step away from your PC without hesitation but don’t want to leave your work to sneaky eyes? Use this Keyboard Shortcut: Windows key+L
4) When you need to access the Utility Manager try this handy Keyboard Shortcut: Windows key+U
5) Toggle through different open programs without the old minimizing and maximizing with this easy Keyboard Shortcut: Alt+Tab
Let the PC Rest.
Many times when our PC gets congested we can generally shut the system down and restart to a fresh rested computer. To minimize productivity loss from these types of CPU brain-farts, shut down your computer when not in use. Turn it back on while your preparing to get into your state and let your PC get into it’s state. This will help your PC be free from the many side dumps of data we typically go through throughout the day, and can help prevent your computer from freezing up when its had enough.
With these 5 tips on staying efficient, you and your beloved PC can go on to see many more miles in less time. After all isn’t that the whole point? If you have questions on mounting dual monitors check out my other blog. Go Surf!
Dual computer monitors can come in different designs, styles, colors, and types. Therefore it is important to have a general idea of what to expect. Whether its a light duty load or heavy duty load, the strength of your mounts will depend on what class it is.
A dualmonitor wall mount can have many useful features to easily rotate the monitors, and to tile the arm to the desired direction. Mounting your dual display on mounts can have the advantage of saving space, the ability to move monitors in desired directions, ability to rotate monitors to view the monitor contents in a landscape or portrait view, giving those dual monitor backgrounds a good look. There can be other advantages to using a dual monitor screenstand as well.
When mounting the monitors to the stand be sure that the 4 (four) VESA screw holes align with those on the back of the monitor. This will save you time if for whatever reason they don’t line up. Also be sure to use the right tool for the job.
New Multiple Monitor Owner Professes Love at 1st byte!
I recently purchased a new computer from multi-monitors.com, which is the home of the computer brand, Super PC. I have been eyeing one of their multi-monitor displays for some time now as I do a lot of multi-tasking on my day trading computer i.e., multi-tabling poker play, video gaming, and I enjoy having the extra work space on my multiple monitors so I am not constantly switching back and forth from window to window on the task-bar. I purchased their Nuclear Workstation Computer. The one I purchased supports up to 6 monitors and is a beauty of a machine.
I had several questions in regards to technology specifications as I wasn’t completely versed in the extensive requirements for multi-monitor capabilities. After reviewing the site for a while and reading their FAQ I had specific additional questions for the configuration of my new PC. Dan at customer service was very quick responding to my email inquiry and was very courteous and knowledgeable. He helped guide me through the entire process of setting up multiple monitors, and directed me to their video page to help me understand the process better, and explained several different system setups all the while never making me feel like I was wasting his time. Together we were able to help narrow
down my choices for the type of specs I wanted and from there I made my purchase.
When I made my purchase I was quoted a build and shipping time of 2-3 business days and unlike some other larger PC manufactures (who I won’t name in this review) I actually received a shipping confirmation within the estimated time frame. I received my multiple monitor computer in perfect working order, in professional packing which impressed me very much. I had no problem setting everything up correctly
and the PC came pre-configured for plug and play ease of use.
I started out thinking that I was only going to be able to purchase a dual monitor video card (due to budget constraints) but it wasn’t as expensive as I thought and now I am in love with this new multi-monitor setup! I plan on purchasing another multi monitor video card from
multi-monitors.com in the very near future, giving my multi-monitor display an additional dual monitor wallpaper. I have played a few games on the computer and have to say I have just fallen in absolute love with it. The computer looks great, operates perfectly and I will be heading back to Super PC for my next computer and recommend them to anyone looking for a dual monitor adapter, a triple monitor computer on up to any other kind of new multi screen variation.
What exactly does the term “Multiple Monitors” refer to?
Multiple Monitors, also commonly known as or referred to as Multi-Screen, Multi-Screens, Multi-Monitor Display, and Multi-Monitor Displays are all synonymous terms referring to the use of more than one monitor. It may be a mystery as to how many different terms we can think of when we refer to any Dual Monitor Setup or larger to be connected to a single computer, and controlled by a single mouse and keyboard. This type of Multiple Monitor setup allows you to visually interface with more than one program at any given moment in time, as well as compare charts, and use the “copy and paste” function across a Dual Monitor Wallpaper without the need to install additional expensive and unecessaryover priced and over rated Dual Monitor Software.
Do you remember that old saying we heard as a child and can still hear it ring on. Even in todays fast paced superhighway people still know that “two heads are better than one”. We the same aspect literally applies to your display setup. I have been using Multiple Monitors for years, and I have noticed a true increase in productivity, every time I upgrade to a system to support more monitors. It’s true that Dual Screens are better than one. Another great thing about it that you do not even need extra software necessarily. So far I have three monitors on my main computer and two on my side kick pc upstairs. You can get a Dual Monitor Video Card and add another monitor fairly easily, or if your graphic needs aren’t so high you might even get by with using only aDual Monitor Adapter for adding a Dual Monitor. Many people who have never used a multi-monitor PC may not understand the true advantage of this technology, and dismiss the idea as novel. On the other hand, an individual who utilizes multiple monitors knows about the power of visualization and organization, and feels as if they have discovered a wonderful secret for business multi-tasking.
Ask any of those who Trading Computers and they will tell you that when it comes to staying up-to-date means staying open to new windows. That in itself is a big testament to how useful and productive you can be with multiple monitors. If the Wall Street big dogs are using them, you know it’s going to be an effective tool. In fact, using multiple monitors for stock trading is guaranteed to make you a better trader.
Back when I used to take calls from Day Traders, they would always prefer a single machine that could support a Multi Monitor Taskbar and more times than not they would choose the Power Trader Pro offered bySuper PC. Talk about one hotrod of a personal deasktop computer, the Power Trader Pro probably stands as the best Trading Computer on the market. For Example: You can view charts on one screen and run your trading software on another all at the same time. If you use more than two screens don’t worry aboiut it! You can watch your live news streams on a third monitor or perform internet research without the risks of losing your current view. You can even copy and paste across all the monitors you have going, rather than maximizing and minimizing windows over and over again and again.
When People tell me about all the great things multiple monitors has done for them, I often chuckle just a bit because they hadn’t found out sooner the overall impact of Multi-Screens functionality. There’s nothing like have a dual monitor wallpaper to stretch out on and relax knowing that I’m not overlooking anything. After all time is money right? Who wants to tell the boss that they spent the day shuffling through papers? Well that’s more or less what is going on when you have to toggle to and fro from one window to the next, while using a single monitorcomputer.
It’s only when someone gets a multiple monitor computer do they ever really get set free. Free from the headache of squinting eyes trying to pry through the fields of tabs or windows in the task bar. Having a multi screen application has freed me from such head trauma and I have since found the meaning of life on the Internet. It’s not necessarily all about multi-tasking or even the extended ease of use that you gain when you have dual monitor software. Mainly it has given me the option to look further than I had ever gone before by giving me another window to work withI think many people would imagine a dual monitor setup to be expensive or even high tech, but in fact it really isn’t all that difficult to set up and experience your favorite dual monitor backgrounds. Desktop PC’s have become a staple in our home, office and for many life even. Why not go ahead and take a step forward and turn your single monitor computer into a Multi-monitor display that can add light and art to your space.
I often think of those people that use trading computers to make their living. I bet it sure is nice to sit at home and watch CNBC all day and make thousands of dollars in the process. Having spoken to a many of them, it originally surprised me that even they don’t use multi monitor software to get their wall of stocking monitors up and going. In fact many of them start just I did buy adding just one extra monitor with a dual monitor cable of some sort. Some are OK but there’s really only one worth spending your hard earned money on and that’s the Matrox adapter available for free shipping at Super-PC.com. Sometimes I think that they were born with a multi monitor taskbar because they specialize in setting up dual monitors on virtually any computer still ticking.
Without Multi-monitor displays myself, I wouldn’t get near as much stuff done because I run so many applications at once. Excel spreadsheets, blog site surfing and reading, email inbox, recording software open and ready to catch my newest little tune. Not to mention allot of unnecessary stuff to like gossip pages or latest nonsense the world media shoves down our throats on a regular basis. Even-though I may not always appreciate such things, I still get drawn to them like many people do. I guess overall it can be entertaining too. Nevertheless I wouldn’t have the time to pay any attention to these things important to me if wasn’t for my triple monitor stand. Every since I got my triple monitor setup going I can do about 50% more than I did with the Dual Monitor system I had from years past.
Multiple MonitorComputers are growing in increasing popularity. We can all understand rather easily why that is. If you really stop to think about it, you may ask yourself what has been the hold up to this point. If you have not already upgraded to a Multi-Screen system, then you may as well give up.
Think about the day traders who are likely to be the biggest consumer of Multi-Screen Displaysystems. And who can blame them? After all when you’re trading stocks on figures that already happened, at the end of the day your going to want to say that you kept up with it all. With Multi-Screen Displays traders don’t need to worry about how late their information is, because they get it instantly on their multiple monitordisplay. Fortunately they do have more than one. A multiple monitorcomputer gives the for ex or day trader time to make split second decisions and increase profits as well. They use Trading Computers because the money saved using a trading computerwill ultimately pay for itself hundreds of times over. If you’ve been trading without multiple monitors the only question you should ask is why?
Many people are making huge profits playing poker now days and they too are great advocates of the Multi Monitor setup. Just having multiple monitor wallpaper allows players to have more tables open and therefore play more hands per hour if you can imagine that. So if you think about it like any professional online poker player would, it really comes down to the numbers. If you’re able to play on one or two tables with only one monitor, imagine what you can do with dual screens! Now since technology has caught with us and now multi monitor software is no longer needed. Just get yourself a dual monitor video cardand read the installation directions carefully, or have someone else do it. Either way you win. The profit increases exponentially, and when it comes to math, poker players are on the top of the scale. At least the winners are.
Then there are those of us who play video games and simulators, these nuts are number three on the list. When it comes to video games, realistic graphics are a priority, but having more screen space is just about as important as pixels per screen. Whether it’s RPGs in the newest “Call of Duty” or cage fighting and action, serious gamers prefer more and more screen space. And flight simulators need the additional multiple monitorvideo card to create the peripheral type views that give flight simulators a realistic feel when they are going down mayday style. The gaming experienced is improved with much better graphics than before and more screen space as well, and a dual monitor cable or so called dual monitor adapter won’t do the trick for these guys.
Did you know that recording artists have been using multiple monitorstand to better control whatever recording software they use, especially when doing the cut, copy, paste shuffle. I’ll tell you something Mr. Mixer Man, using a multiple monitor setup will save you time and create a better recording experiences more people will buy. People are catching on and are the number of people buying a multi screen computer systems are on the rise. Having the additional space always makes the job easier, and if you’re still convinced that using a Mac with one screen is best, consider this, some of the most talented and brightest producers and engineers in Hollywood as well as elsewhere have now started using multiple monitor displays to make the recording process flow more smoothly.
Bottom line is everyday people just like you and me would love to use a multi screen computer, because it allows us to increase our productivity. I usually have the news on one monitor, my music on another, a few Firefox browsers open and a couple just in case I need additional space cause you never know what article you’ll find surfing around. With a Dual Monitor Background, I write a few reviews in my spare time, so being able to quickly browse the net for research without having to minimize and maximize repeatedly saves me time and money. And at the end of the day, time really is money. I can produce more material and provide a better living for me and my family, and having multiple monitors has played a significant role in being able to do so. Thank goodness.
Nothing like the comfort one can experience sitting in their favorite chair at home, all while it is cold and rainy outside. No better time to have a home PC that supports multiple monitors. Having that ability to become completely consumed by the shiny glimpses of light we see on the information superhighway. When you can sit back and gaze into that abyss of ones and zero’s culminating into useful bits of information produced in multi-screens. Most of the time the PC is on there’s one of two things displaying. 1) our favorite picture for example, family photo, picture of Jack and Diane, Maxim screen saver, etc.. Or on the other hand you have 2) which is generally whatever you have been working on before you left the desk, which could include /but not limited to, open Internet Browser displaying news headlines or NETFLIX, Rent movies from Netflix.” Now imagine that you have a dual monitor wallpaper and the panoramic view of the majestic cliffs and beaches along the US West Coast.
If you haven’t already, whenever you do finally get a multiple monitorcomputer on your home living room, you will have a new fancy for delivering a multi screendisplay in your home, and that does look good with the right taste. So if you still have one of those single monitor thingies get with the program! Don’t worry! It’s not like you’ll have to go out and spend a fortune to buy some type of Indonesian dual monitor software to get a dual monitor setup going. To get those dual monitor backgroundsthat your aunt-in-law Harriott will want to write home about. Well that may sound a little like wishful thinking because you’ll probably want at least some type of multi-monitor display going on. Consistent distract from what they really came to grip about is your only mission soldier!
If your still reading this just take a minute to imagine having one of those fancy trading computers with a multi monitor taskbargoing on in your private home office. Imagine that you had some type of multi monitor software that allowed you to see all angles around your house. Talking about in home security, cause there’s just no telling what your neighbors do when they think your not looking.
Setting up dual monitorsis fairly easy as long as your have a pc that was manufactured sometime after 2005 or so. Don’t worry. You’re not going to need to call the Geek-squad. Just go to www.Super-PC.com and get ou one of those dual monitor cable thingies they have and that old monitor or new one if you can dare to invest more. For best results get a dual monitor video card, then all you need to do is plug it up and set it up through your Display Properties in the Windows operating system. If you have any non hardware related questions refer to my “Setting up Dual Monitor system in Windows” post.
For true eye popping astonishment, you’ll need some multi-monitor displays perked up on at least a triple monitor display and for best overall appearance get a triple monitor stand to insure good symetry.
The and only then can you enjoy the blissfull relaxing inner confidence of knowing you can do research on multiple things at once. Or multiple aspects of the same study. your wisdom can actually grow multiple times faster depending on your information delivery system or at least that’s how I feel. Two eyes are bette than one, two ears are better than one, two heads are better than one, and two monitors are better than one. Now enjoy the great videos of the multiple screen advantage.
1) The best overall thing to start out on, is purchasing a Multi-MonitorComputer from multi-monitors.com. Only then will you have the full capability of harnessing full range, unadulterated, no holds barred Multiple Monitors. They are the masters of the Dual Monitor Setup and of Multiple Monitorcomputers. With they’re own brand rightfully coined as Super PC, they carry a Dual Monitor Adapter that really kicks butt for a little plug and play gadget that anybody that has an extra VGA outlet can use as a Dual Monitor Cable. Best of all they offer the best quality with the best price, and are some of the original pioneers for this new breed of multi-tasking super powers.
2) If you get a USB to VGA Adapter, or the USB to DVI Adapter (links above) that will allow you to add an extra monitor to your computer via any USB 2.0 port. You can also add multiple extra monitors by using multiple adapters however not recommended over a Dual Monitor Video Cardor more. This is a great option for viewing documents, surfing the web, using Microsoft office and most all those other business applications that can tend to slow down productivity by forcing the user to toggle between windows on a single monitor display. however, this may not be the best application for intense graphical situations such as HDTV, Blue-Ray, Gaming and 3D/CAD Workstation applications and so forth. For those types of applications, its highly recommended that you purchase a high-powered Multi-Screen computer from multi-monitors.com.
3) You can replace or add an extra video card to your existing computer, depending on how many monitors you want to support. Although this may sound easy to do on paper, in reality it can be complex solution for a newbie/novice beginner, especially when trying to find a compatible graphics card to support things such as Dual Monitor Wallpaper and other Dual Monitor Backgrounds without having to install Dual Monitor Software.
Once you have your Multiple Monitor System set up and ready to abuse, you will need to enable all of your monitors in your “Display Properties” in the Control Panel Section. Here is a splendid link to a virtual Multiple Monitor Setup in the Windows Control Panel.

Here is a very helpful video for Windows Vista users. You can just continue to read through the article and/or if something doesn’t make sense, just watch the video below for a clear demonstration with instructions on how to enable Multiple Monitors on your computer, but will most likely (but not absolutely) need at least one if not more Multi Monitor Video Card.
Windows XP Users:
As a side note, you should be aware that in a Multi Monitor Setup one of the monitorswill serve as the primary monitor which will display the login dialog upon start up of your pc. Most all of the items you open will default to the primary monitor. One of the greatest things is that you can actually select completely different resolutions for each screen as well as adjust the color settings individually. To connect up yourMultiple Monitor System you will need additional video outlets or one (or more) of the easy to use and truly a no brain-er “so easy a caveman can do it” Multi-Monitor Adapters offered by the company that brings us the productivity machine that is gaining steam as an authority and known worldwide as Super PC. It’s the type of simple yet dependable Multiple Monitor video adapter that will allow you to take full advantage of the awesome productivity gains you would expect to get when using a Multi-Screen solution without the daunting need to install expensive, over-rated, over-priced, off the chain and unnecessary multiple monitor software.
Configuration Step: Here we go!
1) Go to START -> CONTROL PANEL
2) Select APPEARANCE AND THEMES -> DISPAY
3) Select the SETTINGS TAB and click IDENTIFY which will display a large number on each of the monitors. This shows which monitor is going to correspond with each icon.
4) Click the icons and drag them to the real world position in which the monitors are set up.
Click APPLY or OK
That’s almost just about it, your screen will most likely flash and Windows may ask you if you’d like to keep the settings and if all is well and everything looks good, then go ahead and hit OK. Viola! You now have a Multi Screen / Multi Monitors to work with. Enjoy!
To change the primary monitor in Windows XP you can do the following:
Steps:
1) In SETTINGS TAB of the Display Properties Dialog box, click once on the monitor icon that you would like to make the primary monitor.
2) Click to select the USE THIS DEVICE AS PRIMARY MONITOR check box. This box will not be available if you select the monitor that is already your primary monitor.
Windows Vista Users
Note: Windows Vista is designed to be a little more user friendly. When I plug in my additional monitor, Windows automatically sets it up for me, MOST OF THE TIME. So, I’ve included these directions for the times when Windows is unable to set up your monitor on its own. Also, as mentioned above, I’ve included a short video for the Vista setup, just in case you have trouble finding anything.
Configuration Step:
1) Go to the START button (actually, it’s the circular Window logo in the bottom left hand corner of the screen on most Vista desktops.)
2) Select CONTROL PANEL from the right hand column.
3) If you are in Classic View, then select CONTROL PANEL HOME.
4) Under the Appearance and Personalization, click ADJUST SCREEN RESOLUTION
5) Now you should see two or more black boxes if you’ve already connected your additional monitor. The icons are representations of the real world position of your monitors. You can drag and drop the icons so that they accurately represent where your multiple monitors are located on your desk.
6) Now select the additional monitor by click the icon and make sure the check box below that says, “Extend the desktop onto this monitor” is selected, then click APPLY. Once complete, this process will enable your Multiple Monitor Setup to perform seamlessly and allow you to navigate through all monitors.
7) You may see the screen flash, and the desktop should now be extended to show Dual Screens. You should get a little pop up that asks if you’d like to keep these settings. If everything looks good, click OK. If something isn’t right, click CANCEL button and try one more time from the top.
There you go! Just about everything you need to know to setup your Multiple Monitor Display. Now you can finally paste that old black lab lounging peacefully on the old wood porch (like great Grandpa had in the Ozarks of MO) as a Dual Monitor Wallpaper. Or you can even go a step further than that. It all depends on the individual as to what type of Dual Monitor Backgrounds he or she may or may not use. In a world that strives to be politically correct, it’s good to know that there’s a Multi-Monitor Display on your desk to show all the different colours of diversity simultaneously!
Each day that passes results in a surge of the use of multiple monitor computers. And there are several reasons why. I’m going to share with you a few of these reasons, and by the time you finish reading, you may be searching for the reasons why you haven’t already upgraded to a multi screen system.
Forex traders are probably the top purchaser of a multi-screen display. And there is good reason. When it comes to day trading or currency exchange, the last thing you have time to do is figure out which task bar is needed to make a quick exchange. With multi-screen displays this no longer an issue, when the timing is right, you simply look up, down, to the left or to the right. This gives the forex or day trader time to make split second decisions and increase profits. If you’ve been trading without multiple monitors the only question you should ask is why?
Poker players are another top buyer of multiple monitorcomputers. Having multiple monitor wallpaper allows players to have more tables open and therefore play more hands per hour. So if you think about it like any professional online poker player, it really comes down to the math. If you’re able to play on one or two tables with only one monitor, imagine what you can do with 6. The profit increases exponentially. When it comes to math, poker players are on the top of the scale.
Video game advocates and simulator nuts are number three on the list. When it comes to video games realistic graphics are a priority, but having more screen space is just about as important. Whether it’s RPGs or real life fighting and action, gamers prefer more screen space. And flight simulators need the additional multiple monitor video card to create the peripheral type views that give flight simulators a realistic feel. The gaming experienced is improved with better graphics and more screen space.
The recording industry isn’t new, but using multiple monitor stand to better control Pro Tools or whatever recording software you use with a multiple monitor setup may save you time and create a better recording experience. These guys are catching on and are the number four buyer of multi screencomputersystems. Having the additional space makes the job easier. If you’re still convinced that using a Mac with one screen is best, consider this, some of the most talented and brightest producers and engineers in Hollywood as well as elsewhere have now started using multiple monitor displays to make the recording process flow more smoothly.
Number five on the list is you and me. I use a multi screen computer is because it allows me to increase my productivity. I usually have the news on one monitor, my music on another, a few Firefox browsers open and a couple just in case I need additional space. I write reviews for a living, so being able to quickly browse the net for research without having to minimize and maximize repeatedly saves me time. And at the end of the day, time really is money. I can produce more material and provide a better living for me and my family, and having multiple monitors has played a significant role in being able to do so.

Do Multiple Monitor Computers Really Increase Productivity?
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihip31NZugU&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1]
Considering the purchase of a multiple monitor computer system? I am often asked, “What’s the greatest benefit of a multi-monitorcomputer system?” Since investing in my 8 screen system a little over 2 years ago, I can say with avid assurance that my productivity has grown tremendously. With the invention of the LCD monitor (replacing those bulky and somewhat hazardous CRT monitors), I’m not the only one fond of having 8 monitors on my desktop. In this article, I’m going to demonstrate how using a multiple monitorcomputer system will improve your productivity.
If you’re like me, you always have half a dozen projects to work on. The ability to start and stop a project without maximizing and minimizing windows, or getting lost in your workspace, is essential. Only six months after I bought my first dual screen system, I was so impressed by the increase in my own productivity that I purchased multi-monitor computers for over half of my office. Within the last 18 months, the systems have paid for themselves many times over because my employees and I are able to accomplish more. I can honestly say this is due to our ability to multi-task, afforded by our multi-monitors. Our everyday tasks such as web editing, writing, marketing, and finances have become less burdensome.
We’re certainly not the first to take advantage of this technology. In 2002, as these types of multi-screensystems were making their way into the skyline offices, an informal study was conducted at Northrop Grumman. Each of their developers was given at least dual monitors. According to Darrell Norton at codebetter.com, some developers were given more, “The junior developers had dual 17″ monitors, two senior developers had a 21″ and a 17″ …two had a 21″ and 2 17″ monitors, and one had 3 17″ monitors.” After a twelve month trial, the following results were noted:
“Productivity in lines of code per day increased 10%
Defect levels decreased by 26%”
And based on the Likert scale (which uses a simple 1 to 5 rating system to measure qualitative benefits of multiple monitor systems), Mr. Norton was able to determine the following:
“On average, people would much rather have 2 smaller monitors than 1 larger monitor. Nobody answered that they preferred 1 monitor over 2 even a little bit.
Multiple monitors were most useful when the application had palettes or when 2 or 3 windows needed to be open, such as for programming/debugging.
The biggest complaint was desk space, since all of our monitors were CRTs (no LCDs).”
Each passing year these productivity numbers will increase. Why? Because as mentioned above, they were using old CRT monitors, meaning space was a limiting factor. Moreover, even programmers would have been hard pressed to find a CPU running faster than 1 GHz. That’s not much firing power for bulky applications. We’ve come a long way since then, and now it’d be difficult to find multiple monitors with less than quadruple the power of their machines. Even though the technology is growing exponentially, prices are actually staying about the same. If you factor in inflation over the past few years, they are slightly less.
Efficient multi-tasking remains possible because of technology’s ability to adapt to increased workloads. Understanding of these adaptations allows my business to enjoy both decreased waste and a higher volume of output. I might still be searching for a way to increase my company’s productivity, but I was fortunate enough to recognize the potential for better organization through increased multi-tasking functionality. This is possible because of multiple monitor computers.
According to a NEC-Mitsubishi Press Release I found mega surfing, Multiple MonitorComputers are on the rise in oticable productivity increases. The following is an exert of what I read. There was a lot of mumbo jumbo however I put in the best information here along with handy and helpful links to comparable products I think you can get an idea from. For your convenience of course.
CHICAGO – October 6, 2003 – Setting a new trend among computer users in the workforce, multi-monitor computing can contribute to increased productivity and enhanced employee satisfaction among corporate users. NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc., the number one stand-alone vendor of flat panel desktop displays, ATI Technologies the University of Utah, today released the results of the first ever systematic study of productivity increases across ordinary office tasks using multiple monitor configurations.
The study, entitled Productivity and Multi Screen Displays examines how multiple monitor configurations increase user productivity and usability. Traditionally used by professionals in the financial or graphics industry, multi-monitor display computing is becoming an affordable and effective solution to the increasingly demanding computing scenarios faced by employees in mainstream corporate America. Providing users with the ability to access more information and images simultaneously, multiple monitors allow for more efficient multi-tasking between applications.
“The study reveals multi-screen users get on task quicker, work faster and get more work done with fewer errors editing documents, spreadsheets, and graphic files in comparison with single screen users,” said Dr. James Anderson, professor at the University of Utah’s Department of Communication. “The technology required to support multi-monitor computing is not only affordable, it has become standard within operating systems and LCD displays. Multi monitor configurations are poised to become the new standard in the workplace.”
By enabling users to work between multiple applications and resolving the need to view and process a multitude of information sources simultaneously, multiple monitor configurations allow users to move and size a variety of information and images across any or all screens to increase productivity. Overall respondents in the study were 10 percent more productive using multiple monitor set ups.
Multi monitors can impact a company’s ROI, when considering the value of errorless work. The study results show that respondents increased their errorless production by 18 percent using multi-screen configurations.
Additionally, multi-monitor configurations can positively impact employee morale, making users feel more comfortable with their ability to complete tasks by allowing for quick navigation and higher task focus. Participants in the study considered multi-screen configurations significantly more useful than single screens and preferred multiple monitor setups on every measure of usability. They found them 29 percent more effective for tasks, 24 percent more comfortable to use in tasks and found it 39 percent easier to move around sources of information.
•Multi Tasking needs flow, in order to be productive. As a smart business owner would say, “time is money.”That being said, it’s only wise to value time, and time spent over viewing process and production.Advantages to having a Dual Monitordisplay is twice that of a single monitor system. The first time I added an additional monitor to my pc, giving it Dual Screens displaying my favorite sites in their respected entirety, I learned quickly that separate screens give you individual workspace for multiple applications. That can be crucial to overall productivity time. Multi-Screens and/or Multi-Monitors literally multiplied my productivity.
•Viewing a multi-monitor set up is going to give you more workable resolution. Some programs/windows may have conflicting resolutions when trying to view multiple applications on a single monitor. With a Multi-Monitor Display arranging all my windows relieved me from the daunting task of toggling through applications by means of minimizing and maximizing each tab or window.Back in the day of single monitor computing, toggling through Multi-Screen Displays(without a Multiple Monitor capable computer), slowed my productivity down to a headache. Multiple monitors displaying multiple windows enabled my computer to handle all of my multiple tasks without bogging down the pc and my time.
•Sharing resolution in multiple monitors actually gave me a larger viewing area regardless of the smaller size displays, compared to the time I tried using my HDTV.When I maximized a window, my computer would freeze up for several seconds. Sometimes an entire application will freeze up and goes into that “Not responding” mode.Exploring Google Earth in Dual Screen mode while watching a movie in another, and viewing local Real Estate listings in another gave my day a whole new meaning. Only Multi-Monitor Displays could handle all my productive eyes needed to see.
•I even considered hooking up my 42’ LCD to pc. However good it looked on paper, the reality didn’t fair as well as I hoped. My Quad Displaygave me even better resolution than my single Big Screen TV could dividing it’s resolution across a single display.Once you get a Multi-Screen Display on your desk, you will wonder how you ever did without it.Toggling through Multipledisplays without my old single core processor computer sometimes slowed my productivity down until I upped to a Super PC. Ultimately, video is preferred on a large single monitor. Other times you may need more resolution than an HDTV can offer.
•Trading Computers used by stockbrokers generally have Multiple Displays to show multiple, always-moving quote charts simultaneously.Watching charts and researching the next move has made many people billions of dollars. Many people don’t know that they too can have a Trading Computer in their home or office.
•Imagine designing a house with only one window with which to see the outside world. Then add three more windows displaying a different direction.Go figure.Multiple Monitor Displays enabled my computer to handle all of my multiple windows without bogging down the pc and my time.
