Don’t Get Overwhelmed With Work: Start Using Multiple Monitors

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that I get easily distracted when I’m trying to work.  I means let’s face it, at any given time that you’re trying to focus, you’re being hounded by multiple alerts, be it email, Skype, Facebook updates, twitter updates, linked in profiles, Reddit stories or pictures, calendar alerts, and if you’re like me you probably have a favorite forum or two in the mix as well.  To say that it’s sometimes frustrating is a pretty huge understatement.  I mean let’s face it, even when you try to turn down the noise, it’s still there, buzzing in your ear like a busted fridge.  And even if you’ve become a master at toggling among a dozen tabs, moving your mouse like Superman himself and an expert at speed-reading, you’re still losing time if you’re only using one monitor to manage all of your applications.

Now that I’ve ranted about the problem, you’d probably like to know the solution (ok, well if you read the title, I’m guessing you know where I’m going with this, but let’s do it anyways.)  One of the fastest growing trends in the workplace is the additional of
multiple monitors- 2, 3 or even more.    Companies and home offices have exploded with screens the way population explodes during springtime at the zoo.  All of these offices are starting to look like creepy control room in The Matrix (you remember don’t you?)  Or perhaps they look like a NASA control center- irrelevant really, but what is relevant is just how much time and energy multiple monitors can save you.

It’s almost amusing to those of us that have made the switch to multiple screens.  It’s like asking someone with a cable modem to use dial-up again.  You just don’t go backwards.  The average for most multi-monitor users is 3 monitors with 3 tables open on each- if one goes down it’s like be smacked in the knee with a police baton during a marathon- you go down and you go down hard.    According to a recent New York Times article a lady by the name of Jackie Cohen, age 42, works at home and uses 3 17-inch monitors at any given time.  She writes a blog, and uses her center monitor for writing.   The other 2-display real time feeds like Facebook, Twitter and an RSS feed where she keeps up with her favorite blogs.  She made a joke about one of her monitors breaking recently saying that it made her computer run faster, but her brain couldn’t handle it.

So here’s an impressive number for you: in 2011 tech firms sold 179 million monitors, in combination with only 130 million computers.  What does this tell us?  Well obviously
it’s a hint at just how many people are trying the multiple monitor thing.  On top of that people are discovering that the rumors are true, size does matter.  The average size of monitor went up from 18-inches five years ago, to 21-inches just last year.

One of the best-known and largest suppliers of monitors, NEC, said nearly 40 percent of all corporate customers are using more than one monitor.   Of course there are probably a number of good reasons for the sales spike.  I mean let’s face it, the cost of monitors have gone down drastically.  It was only 5 years ago that a 24 each display would cost you over $700 dollars.  If a retail store tried to charge that now, you’d probably laugh at the clerk and walk out.  The average price is around $300, in case you were wonder, but discount suppliers online have deals that are even better than that.

In addition to the lower prices on monitors, you can bet that they are thinner and lighter too.  I can’t imagine trying to use 3 CRT monitors on my desktop (that’d just be silly in all honesty- even though it was actually done not that long ago), but having 3 high definition LED displays just makes me happy.  And you can bet that with all the communication tools, like the ones we mentioned above, the extra screen real estate could be a huge advantage.

You know what they say about a guy with 5 monitors, right?  He’s probably trying to impress young recruits to come work for his tech company.  OK, OK, I’m just being funny, but in all seriousness, there are companies that now use multiple monitors as a selling
point for a tech position.  There are jobs, like software engineer and other technical jobs where having more than one screen is pretty much essential.  Engineers aren’t dumb and they know that having the appropriate tools to do a job right could mean success or failure.  So companies offer big screens and many screens to serious candidates.

If you’ve been trying to determine the main motivation behind using multiple screens, the idea tends to be that multiple screens increase productivity, but it’s difficult to prove this, even to some of the die-hard-multi-screeners.  I guess it really comes down to the type of job that you’re doing and the actual need to have live data streamed in front.  After all, there are the detractors that say having more than one monitor just means you’re more likely to mess around on other screens and avoid doing actual work.  But according to a study done at the University of Utah, this simply was not the case.  They found that productivity was higher among those with 2 or more monitors than those who just used a single monitor.  The study cost about $50,000 to conduct and was paid for by the guys over at NEC.  Of course, once the news got out that two monitors really are better than one, HP/Compaq picked up the story and it became a sort of mantra for a while.  Worth noting the lead professor on the study said that the financing of the study in no way influenced the results.

One argument that I made for using multiple monitors that seems to have been backed up by the University of Utah Study is that having multiple monitor can actually cut down on the amount of toggling that takes place.  In return this can save you hours every week- 10 seconds for every five minutes of work.  If you don’t have to toggle back and forth, your company could save literally thousands of dollars a year in lost time.  David E. Meyer, a professor at the University of Michigan agrees that toggling is the equivalent of lost time, even if multi-tasking sometimes makes work more difficult as well.  His
suggestion is to try and stay on task, focus on one thing at a time, even if you are using multiple monitors.

If you talk to people in the financial industry, they’d probably laugh at the thought of using only 2 or 3 monitors.  Many day traders find themselves using 6, 8, 12- the sky is the limit really.  But of course the wall of monitors they use end up displaying charts, graphs, headlines, even live news feeds.  When you’re trading stocks there are so many indicators that you must be aware of to make wise trading decisions.  One downside to the wall of monitors though is that if you work with other people, it can make inter-office communication (at least on a face to face level) a bit more challenging.

Programmers are another field of employees that seem to think multiple monitors are advantages.  The owner of a popular software firm says that he uses 2 monitors and will buy his employees an extra monitor as well, if they want it.  As seems to be the case with a lot of multi-monitor supporters, the main advantage is the ability to have communications open and code at the same time.

Indeed, as this trend continues to grow, it’s likely that more offices will transform into what some might say looks like mission control.  The advantages are many and it’s impossible that other companies and businesses will not continue to catch on to what appears to be an incredible tend.  If you haven’t bought multiple monitors for your office, just remember that it’s rather insignificant cost wise, but will likely save you 10 seconds for every 5 minutes of work, this will add up very quickly.  Those that make the change to multiple monitors never go back, I’d bet that once you have multiple monitors, you won’t go back either.

Managing Your Multiple Monitors Effectively with Ultramon

UltraMon:  A Smart Multi-Monitor Utility

(found here: http://www.multi-monitors.com/product_p/ultramon.htm)

The presentation of particular projects affects the perception and the outcome of that project. In large business settings, there is a need to display large amounts of data on the screen all at the same time. This often leads to a messy situation in which too much data is present in a very tight space, or some of the important data has to be minimized in order to deal with the other pieces of data. This results in a reduction of efficiency and creates a hindrance. The solution to that is to purchase UltraMon. UltraMon is multi-monitor software that can help you spread your data over a number of monitors. The main difference between UltraMon and similar applications is the sheer increase in performance that the unique software provides. UltraMon provides multi-tasking for upwards of ten monitors. There are many other unique and powerful features related to UltraMon that need to be mentioned.

Superior Window Management

UltraMon takes window management to a whole new level, and it has added comfort to the technological advancement. When you install the UltraMon software for your office, you will see that additional buttons will appear in the title bar of the window. This will help you navigate your window through the different monitors that you may be operating. You can send the window to a specific monitor. You can drag the window though the monitors by simply dragging like it were a single screen. You can also maximize it on all screens. This helps when the file is large in size like a spread sheet.

Efficient Taskbar

The UltraMon software embeds a useful function is the software that results in a more efficient task bar that can be used to manipulate each of the application windows in the most efficient way possible. There are two types of taskbar options that are available. The first is the standard task bar that allows for the handling of only those applications that are currently running on the screen. The second option is the “mirror” task bar. This task bar holds the applications of all the monitors, and it allows for easy handling of the application on the monitor.

Easy Shortcuts

UltraMon introduces smart and easy-to-use shortcuts for the frequent user. This allows easy interaction of the user with the software, giving the most useful outcome. When you right click, you also see the options that will allow you to open a specific program in a specific monitor. However, if you choose to do this more professionally, then you also have the choice to choose a specific window for a specific software every time you open it. This lets you customize the way your monitors operate and gives you more control of your presentation.

Display Profiles

UltraMon allows the user to create and store multiple display profiles that help you better maintain the outlook of the monitors and the display settings of your presentation. You have the control to choose the setting of the monitor from your master monitor, who gives you a string grasp over your presentation and business meeting. You can adjust the resolution, the wallpaper, the theme, and the wallpaper of any monitor by just a few clicks from the master monitor.

Desktop Wallpaper

Presenting is the art of giving data and information in a structured form that appeals as a beautiful piece of art to the listener. This fact has been well understood by the professionals at UltraMon. This software gives you more control over the outlook and the aesthetics of your presentation by adding this special wallpaper feature. You can choose stretched landscape wallpaper and choose to spread it across all of the monitors in a row. This gives the presentation a feeling of coherent action which leaves a beneficial effect.

Screen Savers

Often in a presentation with a multi-monitor setup, an embarrassing situation can be faced when one of the monitors turns blank or starts displaying a screen saver while all the other monitors are on or the situation where all the monitors are blank but there is a monitor in an awkward position that is still on. This awkward situation can easily be avoided by using UltraMon. The screen saver feature of the software allows the user to connect the screen savers of multiple monitors so that all the monitors turn off and turn on at the same time accounting for visual pleasure.

Monitor Mirroring

Mirroring, also called cloning, is a very important and useful feature offered by UltraMon. It is the process when the contents of a single monitor are copied on to one or more than one monitors and shown.  This may seem useless at first, but it carries a lot of applications in the real world. Cloning may be used when a presentation is being given to a huge audience where one screen is with the presenter while a second giant screen is with the audience. It can also be used during a meeting when a person in charge of the meeting is displaying a piece of information to all the persons with a monitor or while giving a tutorial to a class of students with their own screens.

Open Source Scripting

The UltraMon is a very useful and powerful application yet it is still open source for all the users, making it one of the best applications out there in the market. You can easily edit the source code to include more features that you think improve the overall usage quality of the application.

Other Value-Added Features

The list of the powerful features of UltraMon does not end here. UltraMon carries a huge range of features that easily make it one of the best, if not the best, multi-monitor utility available. You have the choice to restore the previous arrangements of the icons, disable and enable secondary monitors, and change the primary monitor with just a simple click.

Role of Multi Screen Workstation PC in Multi Tasking

There are various features you can employ with your computer to change it from a single monitor slug to a multi-screen speeding bullet. The multi screen workstation pc has become essential for gaming applications that have undergone modifications in recent past. It is perceived to be one of the most important parts of multi processing. Companies are trying to utilize resources in an effective manner to get the best output. A single processor can be used to perform multiple tasks so that users are able to run their applications in a faster manner. They use various type of pipelining to accomplish above tasks. There are also various types of virtual software that help to deliver excellent output to the end user. Linux has introduced its own version of this software that helps to provide high performance to various types of monitors. You can use different types of adapters that will support DVI communication and accomplish  the aforesaid goal.

You might need an installation CD to accomplish the task or you can use the driver portion of NVIDIA’s website to fetch necessary drivers which enable your multi screen workstation pc to work perfectly. Using this set up will increase profitability of the company.

Digital Signage: Why Advertisers Have Started Using Moving Bilboards

It’s not just the new millennia anymore; we’re in a new decade and a new exciting time for business owners and advertisers alike.  Video walls are being used as an advertising tool all over the globe because they make sense.  They allow advertisers to bring sharp, engaging and interesting ads to customers regardless of where they are.    They’re appearing in arenas, airports, stadiums, and even on the sides of buildings.  In fact, you’ve probably even seen them on the side of the road.  That’s why it’s easy for me to say this: in the next 10 to 15 years, nearly every advertisement that you see will be part of a multiple monitor video wall or video screen style advertisement, because it just makes sense.  The advertiser can deliver a higher quality message and the person selling the advertising space can get more money per ad, plus deliver a wider variety of ads and make changes as needed.  It would be crazy to think that this trend won’t continue and grow.  I’ve put together some of my favorite video walls and advertisements, see below:

This is a video wall at the Shanghai Airport that displays over 209 messages on this 64 screen video wall.  They use a software call C-nario’s messenger and universal play to deliver their messages.  This is just one of many screens at the Shanghai Airport though.

Here’s an example of another, albeit smaller, digital advertising display.  It might not be as large, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t deliver a powerful punch and grab the attention of passersby.  The combination of video walls large and small really attracts the attention of customers and gives advertisers a big voice in an overflowing airport.

I like this video wall because it does a couple of cool things.  They display some really amazing artwork on this wall, but they also use it as an advertising display.  This type of rotation of content versus advertisements is a very common idea, one that TV advertisers have been using for half a century.  Online advertisers do this as well; they engage their users with content and then display related ads.  The retention of the ad material is much higher this way.  The video wall is located at the Recoleta Mall in Buenos Aires Argentina.   Proving that this type of video wall and video advertising is a global phenomenon that is going to disappear any time soon.

There is something about this display that I really love, I think it’s the way that it’s set back into the wall, almost becoming part of the wall.  But its high definition doesn’t blend in and certainly can’t be ignored.  This video wall display can be found at the Swiss International Airport in Switzerland.

Ok, so this video advertising display might not be as impressive as the 64 screen video wall we saw above, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t deliver a powerful advertising message.  In Australia, they rolled out over 1800 of these to gas stations all over the country and Australians are being advertised to while they fill up their gas tanks.  This is pretty clever if you ask me.  We’ll probably start seeing smaller video advertising displays in the future too, as this is a great way to connect with new customers while they fulfill normal, everyday tasks.

Here’s another LED advertising display that can be found in China.  This large display sits over a busy intersection in China and reaches 100,000 people each and every day.  This isn’t an unfamiliar site for Americans though, as we have our own versions of this type of displays in major cities throughout the USA.

I like this display and it stands out to me because it’s located outside of a resort, as visitors pass by on monorail.  This is a neat way to bring in advertising dollars and let visitors know about up coming events at the resort that visitors could potentially be interested in doing.  This just goes to show that no matter where you go, even if you’re on vacation, video walls and video advertising are probably going to be there too.

Here’s a Sharp video wall at the Indianapolis International Airport.  The screen was installed by media and advertising giant Clear Channel Airport, a division Clear Channel Advertising.  The screen apparently cost around $300,000 to install and delivers a stunning display to thousands of airport patrons every single day.  Because the message can be rotated and changed so quickly, I’d put my money on the fact that this sign is probably worth its weight in gold.  It did cause some controversy when it was installed because it replaced an iconic sculpture, however, video walls are often used to display artwork amid advertisements.

In Vancouver, these monster wall presentations are just as common and just as powerful.  The locals call this nine screen video wall the “monster wall.”  It can be found in one of the busiest bus stations in Canada, downtown Vancouver.  National telecommunications mogul Telus launched the very first campaign on the “monster wall,” but since then many other have joined in to the advertising display.

These video advertising displays are pretty neat.  They hang from the ceiling at the HP Pavilion in San Diego, CA and serve a couple of functions.  One of those functions is guiding visitors to the center to their seats and displaying other important information.  They also display sponsor information and include ads for some of the biggest brands in sports.

At Toronto’s biggest airport, you’ll find a number of these, 15 screen video walls that display everything from beautiful artwork to ads for some of the best brands in the world.  These are noticeably bright displays that really tend to grab the attention of airport patrons.  They really are quite stunning and quite impressive.

Video walls and malls go hand-in-hand and at Primall this is no exception.  They use video media all over the mall to help drive customers into stores by displaying promotions and events.  This particular video wall has 12 47-inch HD displays that display brilliant colors and fascinating images.  Stores within the mall love the ability to display their message when it comes to sales and events that are up and coming.

In this image you’ll see that once again the Aussies really know how to be creative with their video walls and video advertising displays.  This particular one is found hanging above a car wash entertaining and advertising to the car wash customers as they wait in line for the next available vacuum.   This particular display is an extra light LED display that features a stunning display.  It really packs a powerful punch.

A real estate agent that displays the most recent updates to their listings uses this sign.  It’s a great way to entertain clients as they come through the door and get them excited both by the prospect of buying a new home or if they are selling their home by the idea of how well this real estate agent understands technology.  It’s a beautiful 2×2 LED display that does justice to some really beautiful homes.

This giant video screen was featured at the Beijing Olympic games and really stands out to me.  It’s absolutely huge and served a variety of purposes.  Obviously it showed the events, but even more important, it displayed important advertising messages, event information and much more.  It such a huge screen that it dwarfed anything and everything else in the stadium.  Fans were pleased to be able to see events so clearly without having to use binoculars or other specialty equipment.  China is well known for their ability to put awesome technology to work and this was no exception.

This ad for BMW was displayed at the Hamburg airport and actually won awards from the New York Festivals.  The video wall uses 50 2m screens lit up along a huge wall.  If you visit the Hamburg airport, this video wall can’t be missed, as it lights up the entire arrivals hallway.

Here’s a video advertisement in Rotterdam at a bus stop.  Because the cost of video technology has come down so much, these types of screens have become more prevalent and will most likely continue to become more popular than ever.   The typically bus patron is nearly a captive audience as they are dazzled with beautiful images and advertisements while waiting for their bus to arrive.

Lamar billboards are a common site in nearly every US city (and indeed cities around the globe.)  While the technology continues to improve, even these relatively lower resolution billboards leave a lasting impression with me.  This is probably because they are still somewhat new.  I simply love the idea of an advertiser being able to swap out advertisements on the fly.  These are easily programmable and that means that they are a greater asset to the billboard site owner and the advertiser himself.  As a direct marketer I can tell you that being able to test and measure the effectiveness of a particular advertisement is key to running a successful campaign and these types of changeable advertisements seem to be the best solution for this for everyone involved.  We’ll likely see more and more of these digital billboards as the technology improves, becomes cheaper and as older traditional billboards need to be replaced.  The future of our interstate drives should be much brighter once the majority of these billboards are digital.

It’s undeniable that digital signage and digital advertisement on video walls is becoming the staple of the future.  We’re already seeing more and more of this and this trend is only going to continue to grow.  As the technology improves, the displays will be increasingly captivating and increasingly interesting, which what makes it so fun to watch this type of technology develop.  I look forward to the days when it won’t just be airports and hotels that lead the way with this technology.  Video walls should be an integrated part of every business and everywhere that we go.

A Fast Tutorial In Multi Screen Computing

Functional Taskbars for All Monitors!.

Two of the best features, I think, are the Taskbar Extender, and the ability to stretch a QuickTime video across dual screen monitors and not lose any picture quality. In fact it sometimes gains picture quality to make one big screen. With the Taskbar Extender, the once ordinary windows single monitor taskbar extends across multiple monitors and displays the application in the monitor it’s on. That’s better than having to always go back to the main monitor to find an application, usually among many others, in the taskbar. Click title to read more..

Piecing Together an Amazing Video Wall On the Cheap

Business owners have been pondering for a while- how do I build a video wall cheap?  A
simple question, but as technology advances, even small and medium sized business owners want to know how they can get in on the video wall action.  The good news is that because the technology has gotten better, it’s cheaper than ever to build a video wall for your business.  In this article we’ll discuss some of the best ways to build a video wall, including some of the newest and most powerful components that you can pick up. Well also discuss what is that makes a video wall function best.  It really comes down to picking up the right components and knowing how to apply them to your system.  Once you know what to buy, then building a video wall cheap is actually pretty easy.

Because more businesses are attending trade shows to show off their business, videos walls have become a popular commodity for many businesses.  It’s not uncommon at all for even small and medium-sized business to attend several trade shows a year because they are finding that they are a great resource for pulling in new clients and developing new business strategies.  In fact, if you’re not attending multiple trade shows with your business, then you’re probably leaving business on the table.  One of the ways these businesses attract new clients at trade shows is the through the use of video wallsVideo walls create a living campaign that can be customized to whatever the particular trade
show is geared towards. The colorful and customized displays are a key part of grabbing the attention of perspective clients and getting them to pay attention to whatever it may be that your company happens to be offering.  When it comes to trade shows, it’s all about getting the most attention.  That’s what they’re there for as a matter of fact.  In the long run, having a powerful video wall display can be a huge benefit to any business, but the initial setup can be a bit pricey.

Thankfully, technology is improving, so it’s becoming easier for that mid-sized business to get in on the action.  What’s new, you ask?  Well there have been some incredible developments in stand-alone video wall controllers that like the iVuPro9 which allow you to setup as many as 9 monitors easily.  And the cool thing about these adapters is that they can maintain high-resolution images across the 9 monitors, so you’re left with a display that leaves a lasting impression.  Furthermore, the cost of a video wall controller like iVuPro9 is significantly less expensive than traditional video signage options.  That’s why it’s become such a popular move for business of all sizes.  The value is obvious when it comes to using these stand-alone options.

Other business have found that in house video signage displays are a great way to recommend their latest products and services, similar to the way that traditional signs may have done.  However, the beauty of using digital signage is that the message can easily be changed and improved to fit whatever may be happening at any given time.  Digital signs still grab more attention than traditional signs too.  People just seem to be impressed by the bright lights and shining colors, which is why given the fact that digital signs and video walls are so cheap these days, it’s a smart move for nearly any business.  Your business will benefit from being able to better reach your customers, and you’ll appreciate the ease at which you can reach your customers or clients.

How Security Programs Can Benefit From Multiple Monitor Video Walls

Throughout the years security personnel have discovered that keeping people safe, loss prevention, and overall wellness of a business can be maintained through careful planning, study and watching closely at how potential trouble makes behave.  It really is special set of skills to learn what people do just before a crime is committed, but the bigger struggle is figuring out how to find these people so that you can identify these behaviors.  In this modern day in age, however, we have learned to adapt and part of that adaptation is the use of power video wall technology that allows us to watch and see what people are doing more closely.  I’ve picked out some of the best video walls in security

offices around the globe to help give you an idea of what I’m talking about.

AT&T is home to the world’s largest security video wall.  It’s officially 12 feet high and 250 feet long and monitors the overwhelming majority of the world’s phone calls.  It looks like the set of War Games, but it actually does keep us all safe, which is what makes this room so special.

If you ever saw the movie Hackers then you probably remember the computer security room in the movie, home of the Gibson Super Computer.  Well this is what a cyber security and hacker specialist actually looks like.  It might not be as impressive as the scene from Hackers, but it’s still pretty darn cool.  This network admin and security specialist uses as many as 11 screens to look for anomalies and ward off any potential threats.

Another security room that most people probably never even think about is the guys watching over your electricity.  This is the security room for The California Independent System Operator Corporation, which is responsible for the flow of electricity across California’s power grid.  In other words, they keep the power supply pumping.  Can you imagine the chaos if they weren’t around to look out for our state’s power supply.  Their job is of the upmost importance and using multiple screens is a key part of that job.  In teams of 2 they monitor various sections with a multiple monitor setup, and also have a video wall to monitor big picture power issues.

This is what a typical CCTV operator room might look like.  These are the “eyes in the sky” that help prevent theft, monitor crowds and help keep us safe.  They use over 30 monitors on the video wall alone and additional monitors to zoom in and look for particular behaviors that might indicate a problem.  It takes special training to know what to look for, but more importantly it wouldn’t be possible without the help of the multiple monitor video wall that they use.
camera feeds from various government buildings all feed to, including the airport and the port of Palm Beach.  In addition, properties such a few malls are also monitored (with the owner’s permission.)  Interestingly enough, while it monitors dozens of properties, nothing actually gets recorded; they just use the room for monitoring. In Palm Beach County local and federal officials are working together to keep everyone safe through the use of what they refer to as “The Situation Room.”  This is where

If you’ve ever wondered where all those traffic cameras are feeding, they probably go to a room that looks a bit like this.  Usually a small team keeps an eye on the video wall to look for anything odd that may require further investigation.  These video walls aren’t exactly cheap, but they do serve a good purpose, ensuring the safety of everyone around.

As you can see from all of the above-mentioned examples, the security of our business, our nation and lives depend on the multiple monitor video wall technology.  And the cool thing is that the technology is only getting better, leading to even more security.  As this technology continues to improve, we’ll probably see even more services that utilize this type of multiple monitor technology to help keep businesses and lives safe from the dangers of the world we live in today.

U.S. Government Using Super-PCs Plus Video Walls to Run the World!

You may not realize it, in fact you probably don’t, but right now you are being kept safe by a technology system that our government has not only embraced, but has put to use in
so many facets.  Where ever you might find a government run control room you can expect that there will be multiple monitor technology employed.  And fortunately, the technology is improving at such a rate that we have seen massive increases in the ability to set these systems up and also an improved functionality of these systems that make them operate more smoothly.

For example, government broadcast agencies use a multiple monitor control room to monitor incoming and outgoing feeds.  This type of control room wouldn’t be able to operate if it were not for multiple monitor systems that allowed controllers to view multiple screens at once.

This technology has been incorporated in many different types of government systems.  Another major system where this technology has been incorporated is our defense systems.  Government Navy, Army, Air force and Marines, all use multiple monitor systems for a variety of purposes.  Be in tracking, spying, monitoring, recording, weapons systems and more.  These multiple monitor control rooms save American lives by allowing the military to operate remotely.  This has been a key to our success abroad in recent years.

Weather monitoring and recording stations also rely heavily on multiple monitor computer systems.  When there are big earthquakes, storms or other catastrophic events, U.S. government has weather and natural disaster stations that actually record the details of these evens to help others prepare.  They use multiple monitors so that they can
monitor large amounts of data.  It is because of these multiple monitor systems that we are able to keep people safe and give early warnings that often times save lives.

Another area where multiple monitor systems play a key role in government is in mass transit control stations.  The ability to monitor which way trains are coming and going is absolutely essential to the health and safety of everyone on board these trains.  Multiple monitor systems help make that possible by making sure the operators and controllers can see every aspect of what’s going on during their shift.  Most people that ride mass transportation probably take for granted all the technical details of what goes on behind the scenes, but the fact of the matter is that without multiple monitor systems it wouldn’t be possible to run major transportation systems.

And last but certainly not least; were you aware that the people that manage your utilities need to use multi-monitor computers to make sure everything runs smoothly?  Whether it is your electricity, water, sewer or cable (OK electricity and cable aren’t government run, but for simplicity sake we’ll lump them all in the same group) using multiple screens is what makes it possible to manage millions of people’s utilities at once.  They rely on giant control rooms to help keep things moving along.

Regardless of which government agency you are talking about, governments use multiple monitor computer systems to help manage things more efficiently.  You probably never knew that you owe all of the things that you take for granted on big and powerful multiple monitor computer systems that make life better.  It is because of this technology that millions of people are kept safe, millions of people get to work, millions of people have electricity and millions of people have water.  It’s is because of these systems that we can live our lives with all the comforts that we’ve become so dependent on every day.

Your Business Can Experience Exponential Productivity By Using Multiple Screens

A video wall system for your business may be just what you need. A video wall system is essentially multiple computer monitors that are set up as one contiguous unit, where the screens essentially over lap so that you have one solid unit. The typical video wall system consists of LCD panels, LED panels, rear

projection screens, or DLP tiles. The cool thing about video wall systems is that they create quite an astonishing presentation for a multitude of purposes.
The screens that are commonly being used these days for videos wall systems are designed specifically to have an ultra small bezel. A bezel is the gap between the actual screens, or the active display area. The ultra small bezel in your video wall system creates the illusion that the user is actually looking at one giant screen. It’s a cool effect that can be used to create a monstrosity of a screen using multiple smaller monitors, which in the end will be significantly less expensive than using large monitors.
There are a lot of different groups that currently use video wall systems and they do so for a variety of reasons. One of the top uses of video wall systems is digital advertising, which is becoming increasingly popular for a number of reasons. Using a video wall system, you can create a digital wall display the size of a bill board that you can update as needed with various advertising messages that change depending on who may be viewing them at the current time. This is one of the reasons why this use of the video wall system is so popular. If you own a high traffic area, it’s easy to sell advertising space to a variety of merchants because you are seen as cutting edge.
Another popular use for a video wall system is the trade show operator. If you’ve ever been to a trade show, or conference, then you know precisely how important it is to be able to grab the attention of a potential new client in a matter of seconds. And with so much going on during a trade show, it’s important to be able to grab your target audience’s attention in a second so that you can present you real message to them one on one. Using a video wall system will allow you do just that. This is probably why they have become so popular over the years. They are an easy way to grab the attention of prospective clients and turn them into actual clients.
So how can you setup a video wall system you ask? Well actually it’s not as hard as you might think, especially if you use hardware recommended in this article. Of course, there is always more than one way to skin a cat, but this article is going to show the simplest and most cost effective way to do so. There is a standalone video controller box that is currently only available at multi-monitors.com that will allow you to hook up as many as 9 units and it does this without data loss and without image loss. So essentially you’re talking about a unit that will allow you to setup your video wall system with ease. The video wall system controller that I’m talking about is the Super PC iVu9 Pro. This is one heck of a system that will allow you to set up a really awesome video well, and it will allow you to do so very quickly.
The cool thing about the video wall system control Super PC iVu9 Pro is that it is able to maintain 8 megapixels input into 8 megapixels output without any image loss. If you’ve put together any other video wall systems then you already know that this is pretty good for large screen systems. And the thing that I like about the Super PC iVu9pro is that it has the ability to connect up to 9 screens. Another thing I like is that those screens can be nearly any type of screen: LED, LCD, DLP or projection screen. That means that you don’t have to use $50,000 monitors from NEC (although technically you could) to achieve fantastic results with your video wall system. Oh, and did I mention that you’re going to save a small fortune going this route with your video wall system (versus some of the more expensive alternatives that are out there. So you’re probably wondering what the iVu9 Pro from Super PC will cost you. Currently the only retailer carrying the iVu9Pro is multi-monitors.com. You can order direct from these guys for $2995 and you’ll be ready to go within a few days, as they typically ship very quickly and get their products out fast.
If you still have questions about what you should be ordering, or need help putting together the rest of your system then your best bet is to give the guys over at multi-monitors.com a call as they’ve been helping companies put together custom video wall systems for years. And the cool thing is that they can help you regardless of their budget. They work with everyone, from Mom and Pop stores all the way up to the US Navy (which I think speaks volumes of their reliability.) In fact, these are the same guys that have been doing this since 2006 and they’re only getting better at what they do. I started buying all my most recent computer systems from multi-monitors.com after they came highly recommended to me and I’ve been very pleased with the results, so I’m doing the same thing for you guys. If you’re looking for a custom system, check these guys out.
Well hopefully this answered some of your questions about video wall systems. You now know how they work, and where you can get the best deal on one. Hopefully you’ll be able to use this information to create the perfect custom video wall system for your business and you’re business will flourish.

Most people still seem quite unaware of the unique possibilities for tailoring displayed content according to Lars-Ingemar Lundstrom author of “Digital Signage Broadcasting: Content Management and Distribution Techniques.” Digital signage has completely new ways of combining information from different sources, and getting an understanding of how the visual message in digital signage systems is put together is described in detail in his book.full3x3iVu

Now there are video wall solutions for clients who believe that large displays are a must to show their presence in the competitive market. With an iVu multi-screen controller, Plasma and LCD monitors can be connected together to display a single image as a video wall at a fraction of the price comparable to traditional formats, and this can operate without a PC.

Multi-screen display technology and video wall controller solutions enable a wade variety of highly demanding applications and the applications are as diverse as the many users that employ them. Such industries as medical imagery, satellite imagery, billboard displays and other digital signage as well as a multitude of industry and executive command stations.

VideoDatawall

A Video/Data wall enables a view of all your important information on a virtually large high resolution display comprising of many “smaller” screen using LCD, Plasma, Projectors, and even those abundant CRT Monitors. With the entire video/data wall will acting as one large Windows desktop, applications can be launched and placed onto any singular or combination of screens (when not fully maximized).

How to Make Windows Format Your Multiple Monitors the Right Way

If you have multiple monitors and each is of your monitors is a different height, then it can be extremely frustrating to try and move the mouse pointer between the monitors. In this article I’m going to discuss how you can make this process much smoother and less frustrating for you.
Step number one is aligning the monitors correctly. I’m going to explain first how to do this in Windows 7. The process is slightly different for older versions of Windows, but we’ll get there in a minute, ok? In Windows 7, the easiest way to navigate to the display settings is to simply open the start menu and type ‘display settings’ and hit enter. This is where Windows 7 really does have an advantage over older versions of Windows, and one of the reasons I have no problem recommending people use it. If you’re using Windows Vista (hey guys, time to upgrade- get on the ball!) then just right click your desktop and click ‘Personalize.” Next, from the “Personalize Appearance” menu, click “Display Settings.” In Windows XP (you guys still use this versions of Windows?) right click on your desktop and select “Properties,” then in “Display Properties,” then select the “Settings” tab.
Now, regardless of what version of Windows you are using, you should be able to change the appearance of

your monitors. So for example, if you have a 17 inch monitor and a 20 inch monitor, you probably know the frustration of trying to get the mouse pointer from one monitor to the other. The idea behind tweaking this setting is moving each display to a particular height, making it easier to get the mouse pointer from one screen to the next.
Just as a side note, remember this is the same area where you can change multiple other settings as well, such as moving your monitors around, changing the orientation, and even adjusting the screen resolution. So take note, it’s a good idea to remember how to get back to these settings for future reference.

Multi-Screens and Digital Signs in Government: Are They Benefiting Taxpayers?

Government Usage of Digital Signage Technology

Digital signs are altering the way we perceive everything around us- from fast food menus, to billboards, to weather displays, and to sporting events.  Digital signs give advertisers the ability to make quick changes immediately.  Technology is changing fast, and there is no time for delay. For instance, rotating billboards is almost as effortless as a push of a button; shifting menu items and specials can be done in seconds. One of the initial uses of digital signs was in the 1990’s; these signs were first appearing in airports.  Airports began using digital signs for a range of activities, but the most noticeable was the use of digital signs for displaying the arriving and departing flights.  The benefit of it was that it could be updated almost instantaneously.

More recently, video walls are being used in billboards that have the utility of rotating messages.  Another attribute of these billboards is that they can be used for Public Service Announcements such as “Amber Alert.”

Government agencies are always on the sentry for ways to draw out and develop their budgets.  One way to do this is through the use of multiple monitor computer systems.  Government agents are pretty much always narrow in what they can do.  Budget being one of the biggest factors, multiple monitor computer systems are very helpful for them to help keep the costs down as well as increase efficiency at a good level.

The U.S. government civil service department has ongoing multiple monitor usage in their offices.  Their aim is monitor the way their business is being operated.  The idea is to help drive ambassadorial philosophy and perk up the world more professionally.

Another zone within the government that has started using multiple monitors is in schools.  Schools are not as safe and sound as they were before, so the necessity for high technology precautions is a must.  That is why we are seeing school security systems use multiple monitor video walls to help maintain the safety of the students.  It is sad that schools have had to route to such measures, but it is reassuring to know that the technology is accessible to help keep people safe.

Furthermore, multiple monitor computer systems are fairly widespread in our defense department. Both abroad and domestically, the military uses video walls as part of a highly developed system to help keep this country safe.  The technology that they use is comparable to what you would find in the school systems video walls; nevertheless, they often use multiple monitor systems for tracking, undercover work, and
weaponry.  For an example, remotely-flown Drones are power-driven by multiple monitor computers; NASA incorporates multiple monitor technology, etc. The rationality for this agency to use multiple monitor system is to improve their working efficiency. Multiple monitor systems provide ample space to work. A number of screens aligned to each other give a much bigger area to work in than would be possible otherwise. The screen-to-screen uniformity makes the job easier!

The multiple monitors advance government by escalating the quantity of work that they can do during any specified day.  This can be the solution for a government office being able to stay within budget and activate at full aptitude for the whole year.  Governments have to be vigilant about how they maneuver.

If the government can use this efficiently and learn how to run a better machine, then other industries could almost undoubtedly benefit from the supplementary productivity tools.

Today, when governments are managing, multiple monitor technology recognition can be anticipated.  Fortunately, the technology is currently improving at such a rate that we have seen enormous increases in the capability to enhance functionality of these systems. For example, government broadcast agencies use a manifold monitor control room to monitor incoming and outgoing feeds.

This technology has been built in many diverse types of government systems.  Another chief system where this technology has been integrated is our defense systems.  Government Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines all use multiple monitor systems for an array of purposes, which include tracking, spying, monitoring, recording, and weapons systems.  These multiple monitor control rooms save American lives by allowing the military to activate tenuously.

Weather monitoring and recording stations also depend mostly on multiple monitor computer systems.  During earthquakes, storms, or other calamitous events, the U.S. government has weather and natural disaster stations that record the details of these events to help others prepare.  They use multiple monitors to examine large amounts of statistics.

One more vicinity where multiple monitor systems play a key responsibility in government is in mass transit control stations.  The capability to monitor directions of trains is absolutely indispensable to the health and safety of everyone on board.  Multiple monitor systems help make that plausible by making certain the operators and controllers can see every portion of what’s going on during their transfer.

Additionally, electricity, water, sewer, and cable are managed by their providers with the help of multi-monitor computers to make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Your Business and a Video Wall = Success

As a small, medium or even large business owner, the goal is always the same; increase your company’s profits through innovation and creativity.  It really doesn’t matter if you
own a small Mom and Pop shop, or if you manage the marketing for a large company and need new ways to market, using the right video wall solution is one key that your company should be using.  In the old days, it was an expensive and overwhelming task to put a video wall together, but as technology has progressed, it’s not only cheaper, but modern video wall solutions are better too.  The days of slow, heavy and poor quality are long gone.  In fact, the best video wall solutions offer a design that is easy to setup and use and break down and transport, if necessary.  Hopefully you’ll find that this article provides some insight as to what you need to look for when you go to make your video wall purchase, and it will help you pick the right components so that your video wall functions best for your business.

In the old days of JumboTrons and CRTs, putting together a video wall solution was pretty tough.  Those days are long gone though, because these days, LED monitors with ultra thin bezel (we’ll discuss this in a moment) are attached to a stand alone video controller, which that will allow you to control up to 9 monitors with only one device.  This means a couple of things for your video wall solution: you’ll spend less (significantly) and you’ll have significantly higher quality.  The other advantage is that LEDs are much less bulky and weigh less, so they’ll be easy to setup and maneuver as needed, if you need to do so.

Let’s talk about LEDs first off.  The cool thing about LED monitors is that they have an ultra sharp and stunning picture quality.  This means that if you choose the right device(s) to accompany your monitors, you can setup a monster video wall that has awesome quality.  Another cool thing about LED monitors is that as the technology improves, the bezel gets smaller and less noticeable.  The bezel is, of course, the inactive part of the screen that looks like a frame (it’s usually black.)  The reason a small bezel is important is because if you want to design a custom video wall solution that allows you to use all the screens in sync as one giant monitor, then having a small bezel will make the screens look more like one screen.  This has turned out to be a huge break through in the multiple monitor arena.  Before the days of tiny bezels, the best option for high definition video walls was a giant screen by a company like NEC.  This was cool except that it could cost upwards of $50,000 or MORE.  That’s why you saw far less companies using multiple monitor walls back in those days.

Picking the device to organize and control your video wall can be a challenge.  There are several ways to approach it.  I’m going to touch on the most popular solution, and then you can research and figure out what might work best for you.  Using a multiple monitor computer or a computer than is capable of handling more than one monitor is a solution that companies have been using for years.  The setup includes either a video card that is capable of handling 6-9 (or more even) monitors or using multiple monitors all in one machine.  Of course the pro to this is that you have a little bit better control of your windows and what’s displayed on them.  Some of us like to be able to be very specific on how we control things.  The down side is that this setup is typically going to be more expensive.  Video cards like the Matrox M9188 for example are expensive, and they must be coupled with a powerful machine that may end up costing a lot.

Another, better (in my humble opinion) option is a stand-alone video wall controller.  There are a few available, the best of which is the iVu9 from Super-PC.  The advantages of using a stand-alone are many, but the least is most certainly not the fact that you will save a considerable amount of money.  And with the modern stand-alone controllers you’ll find that you’ll be able to do the majority of the same things that you wanted to do with the other setup.

The perfect video wall solution for your setup could be as simple as a controller and 9 monitors, but regardless of how you decide to set up your video wall, your business will thrive because of it.

Security Professionals Agree: Video Walls Make Their Job Easier

In this modern day in age, we have to be prepared for the worst.  Being vigilant and having strong security protocols are part of what keeps us safe.  Fortunately for us
technology has made this significantly easier than it use to be.  In fact, I’ve walked into malls before and I’ve seen control rooms with as many as 20 monitors on the wall.  Technology has made it significantly easier to watch, split and monitor large areas for things that might be suspicious.  Technology is lending a hand video help keep you safe.

It was so long ago that a security officer would sit around watching a black and white monitor in a small isolated room.  He probably did more donut eating then he did security though.  In reality his one monitor was probably split 4 ways, giving him tiny images that were nearly impossible to watch.  It was really more of an illusion of security than actual security.  I can only imagine that the eye site of those security officers went bad after a few short years of staring at tiny black and white images.  It’s pathetic really.

Well fortunately for everyone that has changed.  If a crime is committed it’s going to be caught, and if it’s not, well at least it isn’t the security guard’s fault.  Large high definition LED displays don’t hurt your eyes, even after hours of viewing.  They also make it significantly easier to catch small details.  In fact, with modern technology, images may even appear almost real- it’d be hard not to catch a criminal in the act.  The beauty of this whole thing is that this technology is not extremely expensive.  You can build a custom video wall display inexpensively and it will make a huge difference in your ability to secure areas effectively.

In addition to high definition monitors, specialty software is available that will allow you to split your video wall in nearly any configuration that you see fit.  This gives you the ability to monitor high traffic or high danger areas far more carefully than without.   Casinos even use special facial recognition software to help keep banned parties out of the casino.

Video wall controllers, such as the Xtreme4vs allow you to hook up as many monitors as necessary (up to 9) so that you can create the ultimate video wall.  The even allow high definition monitoring.  The cool thing is that this relatively easy to do too.  You don’t have to be an expert to setup a high-end video wall for your security office.

Hopefully this article has taught you about some of the advantages of using a multiple monitor video wall set up for your security office.  With a little bit of planning you can improve the security of your business.  Once you’ve upgraded your facility to a multiple monitor wall facility it will pay for itself very quickly with the added benefits of less chance of crime, reduced shoplifting.  In the event that there is a crime that takes place, you’ll be able to quickly reduce help police solve the crime that has take place.  A video wall will help keep you safe and you’ll quickly come to appreciate the benefits of using a multiple monitor video wall.

Role of Multi-monitor Array Displays in Multi Processing

You can use various features in your computer to make it an efficient machine. Multi-monitor array displays have become essential for the working of gaming applications that have undergone modifications in recent past. It is perceived to be one of the most important parts of multi processing. Companies are trying to utilize resources in an effective manner to get the best output. A single processor can be used to perform multiple tasks so that users are able to run their applications in a faster manner. They use various type of pipelining to accomplish above tasks. There are various types of virtual software that help to deliver excellent output to the customer. Linux has introduced its own version that helps to provide high performance to various types of monitors. You can use different types of adapters that support DVI communication in order to accomplish aforesaid goal.

Multi-monitor array displays: Working with operating system

You can use Nvidia card that must be inserted in to the PCI slot of your CPU. In modern era many PCI slots support cards that have multiple interfaces for monitor. Once it is achieved the system would prompt for the device driver installation. You might need the CD to accomplish the task or you can use hard disk to fetch necessary drivers which would enable your multi- monitor array displays to work perfectly. It will help you to design new gaming applications that might increase profitability of the company.

You also get access to cutting edge technology that you won’t find from other retailers. Those two things alone should be enough to get you to make your purchases from there. This is only place I buy trading computer components.
Trading at home versus renting office space is a big question that a lot of guys have to think about as they consider trading computer components. It’s a big advantage for those traders that decide to go with the office space though, I can tell you first hand. Being at home, especially if you have a family or even just pets can be such a distraction. Of course, no one actually means to distract you, but how can they help it and when you are considering trading computer components this is something that you should definitely consider. The idea with this aspect of trading computer components is to limit any possible opportunity to not have success.
Another consideration should be the type of internet connection that you use. I seriously doubt that anyone is using dial up these days, but some DSL is almost as slow as dial up. The best connections are business T1 connections, but if you can’t afford that then consider getting the ultra fast 50 Mb line from Brighthouse/Time Warner. The other option is Verizon’s internet service which 50 Mb as well. These are going to give you the fastest connection to your real time data feed. Moreover, it’s a good idea to have a back up internet line as well, just in case. In the case of the backup line, a 2 or 3 Mb DSL line works well and won’t set you back much financially.
Speaking of which, if you’re taking the time to drill down which trading computer components that you need, have you considered your real time data feed. All the free feeds, such as the one hosted by Yahoo are delayed at least 20 minutes. You need real time access if you’re going to trade penny stocks. You can usually buy this feed from your broker, and it runs between $100 and $200 a month. It may sound expensive, but the fact of the matter is that it would be impossible for you to run a day trading business without having the proper data feed to get real time numbers.
What type of components should you install in your day trading computer? Well that question is a little more complex, but we’ll do our best to help you figure out what you need. Probably the most important trading computer component is the processor. Pretty much all the big guys are now using an i3 or i5 from Intel. If you don’t mind spending a little bit of extra money, then it’s not a bad idea to go ahead and upgrade to the i7 which will give you that much more of an edge. This is all assuming that you want to power at least 4 monitors, which most day traders do. Then of course there is the issue of RAM. Memory (RAM) over the years has gotten rather cheap, and it’s not a bad idea to max out on RAM when you buy. But if you are just going with the minimum then I would say at least 4 GB of RAM is fine for 4-monitors. Picking a video card can be challenging and also depends on your budget. I use the PNY Quadro 6000 6 GB GDDER Fermi Workstation Card. It’s pricey, but it’s also amazing and fast. If you want to save money then you should buy 1 GB of GDDR5 ATI HD5670 video card. Budget plays a large factor in what you end up buying for sure.
Of course figuring out where to buy all of these fancy components or what to buy may sound a bit tricky, but take my advice: call the guys at multi-monitors.com and ask them ANY THING and they’ll help you put together the perfect system for your needs. They’re very good at figuring the best components for YOUR needs, not just a generic trading computer. That’s why I recommend them so highly above all the other multi-monitor providers out on the market place.
If you’re putting together a multiple monitor computer system and you need to figure out which trading computer components you need to buy, then I hope this helps get you started in the right direction. Picking the proper components and putting together the best overall system is absolutely essential to you being a success with your business and that’s why I stress that you take a look at a number of the important facets of the system and not just the computer components. A lot of people don’t realize the difference between success and between failure can literally be having the right tools. A lot of people don’t realize that having the right tools can be as simple as knowing who to talk to and having them give the right answers, because when it comes down to it, we are all experts at something, but finding help from the right expert can make the difference between understanding what we need to succeed and not.

The Advantages of Using Digital Signage for Government Offices

The Advantages of Using Digital Signage for Government Offices

Government offices have started using digital signage as a means to easily inform, not only those whom work in their offices, but also the general public of on going projects within that particular government building. Using this technology is not only a way for the government to keep up to date with the present innovations, but also as a cost efficient means to keep constituents easily informed of things taking place within the building, such as meetings, visitors to various departments, community events, etc.

The usage of digital signage has increased tremendously all over the world with China being the largest consumer. At present there are multitudes of companies manufacturing or even controlling digital signage as means to help inform the public.

Digital signage is simply a digital screen which performs tasks that traditional signs do, as well as showing television programs, advertisements, announcements, menus, and many others. It uses display technology such as LCD and LED. Digital signage is usually installed on both community and personal places such as stores, hotels, corporate buildings, and of course government offices.

Controlling the digital signage is easy. Computer device or office servers using specialized programs for the purpose of posting messages usually do this. Such programs also act as drivers for these devices.

Digital signage came about as a cheaper and more efficient alternative to posting announcements. Compared to static signs, it saves time, energy, and money. One of the greatest advantages of using digital signage in government office buildings is that it’s easier to update the information displayed. In addition digital signage is also interactive. Placing colors or images to make it look interesting and eye-catching (or make it animated) are a couple of tricks used to grab the attention of building visitors.

The interactive feature of this digital signage is the reason why these are also seen outside of buildings. It means that digital signs can also be used as powerful and compelling advertisements. Certain companies use this as a way to advertise their products or services to people who are walking down the streets or in offices or public places. This has proven to be an effective way for governments to earn additional revenue and improve their programs without placing an additional tax burden on their constituents.

Additionally, digital signage can also integrate touch screen technology. This is the reason why most government offices also use this display. It also serves as an easy way for clients to do transactions or easily browse for information.

Technology of Digital Signage

Digital signage is composed of a screen (or multiple screens), media player, and content management server. This is all networked together to produce the desired display. Sometimes one signage is composed of multiple screens, media players and content management, which are all in synchrony, allowing each screen to show a specific part of the certain advertisement. And while it may cost a bit more, digital signs are available that have these three features combined into one component. The advantage is it’s a bit easier to setup, however, maintenance is similar regardless of the style of digital sign that you choose.

When it comes to modern screen displays, the most used is the LED matrix, primarily because LED displays are cheaper and use less energy than their CRT, Plasma and LCD counterparts. No additional component is needed to control or showcase the picture such as those in LCD displays.  With companies and government offices focusing on being green, another reason why LED displays are so popular is because they use less energy, making them more environmental friendly. Different styles of LED’s, such as OLED or AMOLED, are safer to use and are more durable. Because these displays are also enhanced, they offer up a clearer/higher resolution image as well.

Purpose of digital signage in government offices

Usage of digital signage is becoming more popular in many businesses and since the private sector typically drives government innovation, this is the reason why the government sees it fit to use them in informing the public.

  • Digital signage posts various public information such as news, weather, travels information and certain news headlines like the current stock market information. This helps keep government manage things running smoothly, such as infrastructure projects, funding, and medical missions.
  • Menu information is another reason common use of digital signage. This is not only limited in restaurants, but in health organizations too. But we’re not just talking about the food being served, but also nutritional facts informing consumers of food that may be unhealthy.  They also have photos of food and recipes that can be prepared for those who are looking after their diet. This can also include medical supplements provided in public hospitals and clinics and even treatments.
  • Advertisement is the most common reason why such signage exists outside buildings. The government needs to update the people on certain services from their offices. In addition, posting job openings not only in their offices, but also in other establishments is an advantage of digital signage. Even health announcements such as advocacy campaigns can be easily displayed with digital signs. And during election season, digital signs may be used to help aid in the election process. For example, these signs are a convenient and efficient way to inform people of certain events that concern the nation, such as debates or speeches.
  • Displays are also used as a way to inform people who visit government offices, especially those where there’s registration involved, managing a long line of people waiting to see an agent. They even help direct constituents to which booth or office they should go.
  • Another benefit of display signage is interactive screen maps which are used to give people direction on what each floor has or where they can find a certain office they need to go to.

Informing the public

Government offices fulfill a number of crucial roles, such as informing their constituents of important events, emergency weather management, other alert services, and so much more.  Such informational devices are a great help to government offices.
